At RecycleLab, we are committed to fostering a fair and equitable workplace. As part of this commitment, we recognise the importance of ensuring that all employees are compensated with a living wage. This policy outlines our approach to implementing and maintaining living wage standards for all staff members, ensuring that everyone at RecycleLab earns a wage that meets their basic needs and contributes to their overall well-being.
This policy applies to all full-time, part-time, temporary, and contract employees of RecycleLab, regardless of their role, seniority, or location.
A living wage is defined as the minimum income necessary for a worker to meet their basic needs, including food, housing, transportation, healthcare, and other essentials. This wage should also provide some discretionary income and account for the needs of dependents. .
RecycleLab is committed to paying all employees at least the living wage, as defined by the Living Wage Foundation. This commitment extends beyond the statutory minimum wage to ensure that our employees can maintain a decent standard of living.
Wage Determination: RecycleLab will use the latest data and recommendations from the Living Wage Foundation to determine the living wage.
Regular Review: The living wage rates will be reviewed annually to ensure they remain in line with current living costs. Adjustments will be made accordingly to reflect any changes in the cost of living.
Communication: All employees will be informed of the living wage policy and the wage rates that apply to their roles. This information will be included in employment contracts and shared during onboarding.
Contractors and Subcontractors: RecycleLab expects all contractors and subcontractors to adhere to our living wage policy when working on our behalf. We will communicate this requirement clearly in all relevant contracts and agreements.
RecycleLab will regularly monitor wages to ensure compliance with this policy. Any discrepancies or concerns will be addressed promptly. Employees are encouraged to report any issues related to wage payments without fear of retaliation.
RecycleLab is dedicated to continuously improving our employment practices. We will seek feedback from employees and stakeholders to ensure that our living wage policy is effectively supporting the well-being of our workforce.
This policy will be reviewed annually and updated as necessary to reflect changes in living wage standards, legal requirements, or company practices.
This policy is approved by the senior management at RecycleLab and is effective as of 1st January 2024.
